Thanks to the straightforwardness of his language and his irony, Banksy is able to address important topics such as child exploitation, and he does this by exposing all its aberrations, the media manipulation and poverty.
Some of his works became actual contemporary icons: the little girl who, on the wall dividing Israel from the West Bank, floats toward the sky by holding on to some balloons; or the equally iconic girl searching a soldier, which appeared on a wall in Bethlehem, or the boy putting a flower in a soldier’s rifle barrel and many more. These are all topics close to the sensibility of the Bristol artist, who wants to expose and attract the interest of the public opinion with straightforward messagges.
